D'ADDARIO STRINGS & ACCESSORIES

History of the D'Addario Company

D’Addario is a company that specializes in the production of musical instrument strings and accessories. The company was founded by the D’Addario family in Italy in the 17th century and has been in continuous operation for over 350 years.

In the early days, the D’Addario family produced strings for violins, guitars, and other instruments by hand. The company’s reputation for quality soon spread, and they began supplying strings to some of the most famous musicians of the day, including Niccolò Paganini and Luigi Boccherini.

In the early 20th century, the D’Addario family emigrated to the United States and set up a small workshop in New York City. There, they continued to produce strings by hand, but also began to develop new manufacturing techniques that allowed them to produce strings more efficiently.

Over the years, D’Addario has continued to innovate and expand its product line. In addition to strings, the company produces a variety of other musical accessories, including picks, tuners and pedalboards.

D’Addario is committed to sustainably providing musicians with the most innovative musical accessories in the world. With proprietary materials, machines, and manufacturing processes, D’Addario never stops tinkering and dreaming of better ways to exceed musicians’ expectations.

Whether it’s experimenting with new materials or venturing into new product lines, D’Addario continually imagine new ways to inspire players everywhere.
