In the past week Pedally tech staff has focused on making improvements to our website. There were several customer experience things that bugged us, so it was important that we fix them. Building a frictionless shopping experience is a top priority for us. Buying pedals should be fun!
Shopping For Pedals Is Easier
We put a lot of work into improving our product search. Our search bar was only featured to desktop users. We fixed this by adding a search icon to the mobile header menus. When you click the magnifying glass icon, a search box appears. You can type in exactly what you are looking for. It doesn’t matter if it’s a brand, a product name, or a type of pedal like Reverb to see what we have in stock.
Our search results pages have also improved. The old search pages had images that were cut off and poor product descriptions. This is all fixed. You get correctly sized images of the gear and the title of what you are viewing. Your search term is even highlighted in the results to help aid you see why the product was displayed.
In the event that your search doesn’t return anything, we give you the option of digging into guitars, pedals, accessories, etc.
Deep Shopping Pagination
Finding products is easy when there aren’t many choices. But what happens when you want to see everything we carry?
We break down the product listings into pages. Switching pages wasn’t returning you to the top of the next page. This is fixed.
Our Checkout Is Easier
Our checkout page had a lot of fields and options to it. We have simplified the amount of information you need to give us to complete your gear order.
For most musicians, the credit card billing address and your shipping address is the same. Entering the same info twice doesn’t make any sense, so we removed those excessive fields.
We had a “captcha” on the checkout to stop fraud. This was causing some customers trouble, especially on mobile. We shifted these security checks to the server so that the customer doesn’t bear the burden. The new security practices are better for us and better for you. A complete win-win!
